Softball Game Preview: Winnsboro Raiders vs. Gunter Tigers

The Winnsboro Raiders will face off against the Gunter Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Winnsboro is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Mount Vernon just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 14-1.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Gunter's offense. They fell 4-0 to S & S Consolidated on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost three in a row.

Gunter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ireland Waite, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Gunter's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Winnsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
