League recap: St. James Academy extends winning streak with victory over Ottawa

St. James Academy extended the longest winning streak in Freelance this week by beating Ottawa, 35-18. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

St. James Academy took down the Cyclones 35-18 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jansen Keyes threw for 147 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 59 yards in the win.

Tom Radke's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jake Bade chipped in 104 yards. Keith Winger helped St. James Academy's passing attack out by catching two balls for 41 yards.

Tommy Huppe was the best wideout in the league this week as the Thunder topped Ottawa. Huppe tallied three receptions for 73 yards.

St. James Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Thunder feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Keyes has thrown for 500 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Alex King has 11 catches for 173 yards. Bade leads the league in rushing with 379 yards.

Olpe and McLouth played the most hotly contested game in Freelance this week, with Olpe eventually emerging with a 13-12 victory.
