Softball Recap: Slocomb Victorious

Slocomb's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Geneva County Bulldogs by a score of 7-3. The Red Tops haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Addisen Blankenship was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Those runs were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Molly Mcgowan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Slocomb was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Slocomb's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Geneva County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Slocomb will head out to challenge Houston Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Geneva County, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Carroll at 4:30 p.m.
