Basketball Recap: Barbour County Takes a Loss

Barbour County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 72-44 to the Carroll Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Eagles are ranked 93rd).

Barbour County's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Carroll, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Barbour County will square off against Long at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Carroll, they are taking a road trip to square off against Dothan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carroll knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Dothan likes a good challenge.
