Basketball Recap: Augusta Takes a Loss

Augusta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 85-68 fall against Gilmanton/Independence. The Beavers were probably out for revenge after losing 58-46 to them when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Augusta's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gilmanton/Independence, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Augusta will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Melrose-Mindoro at 7:15 p.m. Melrose-Mindoro knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Augusta likes a good challenge. Gilmanton/Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
