Basketball Recap: Stark County Comes Up Short

Stark County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 71-39 loss at the hands of the Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 44-32 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Among those leading the charge was Jacob M Hall, who posted 25 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Foutch, who had 12 points.

Stark County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Abingdon/Avon, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season.

Coming up, Stark County will host Henry-Senachwine at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Abingdon/Avon, they will square off against Annawan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Annawan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Abingdon/Avon likes a good challenge.
