Softball Recap: Desert Oasis Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

Desert Oasis won the last time they faced Mojave and things went their way on Friday too. The Diamondbacks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Rattlers a 17-0 shutout. The Diamondbacks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 11 runs or more this season.

Brianna Bartok was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vida Torres, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Veyda Simon also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Desert Oasis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Desert Oasis has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Mojave, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Coincidentally, Desert Oasis and Mojave will both be playing Foothill the next time they take the field. The Diamondbacks will host the Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Rattlers will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
