Football Recap: Aldine Takes a Loss

The matchup between Aldine and North Forest on Thursday hardly resembled the 14-7 effort from their previous meeting. The Mustangs were outmatched by the Bulldogs and fell 53-12. The Mustangs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it nine in a row dating back to last season.

Jace Shanklin threw for 44 yards and one touchdown. Quinton Parker Jr was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards and one score.

Lashun Gray had a dynamite game For North Forest., rushing for 171 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries, while also throwing for 99 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 6-for-6 passing. Gray got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 89 yards.

Aldine's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for North Forest, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Aldine didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-7 defeat against Northbrook on the 11th. As for North Forest, they will host Wheatley at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. The matchup will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
