Softball Recap: Kingsburg Takes a Loss

Kingsburg lost against Centennial back in March of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Kingsburg Vikings fell just short of the Centennial Golden Hawks by a score of 5-3. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sabrina Frandsen put in work no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season.

Frandsen wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alyanna 'Yaya' Gonzales, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. Mariah Contreras was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Kingsburg now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Centennial, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Kingsburg has already played their next matchup (against Chowchilla), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Centennial, they will challenge Bakersfield Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
