Basketball Recap: Eno River Academy Takes a Loss

Eno River Academy lost against Clover Garden School back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eno River Academy Bobcats lost to the Clover Garden School Grizzlies on the road by a 31-12 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 153rd).

Despite the loss, Eno River Academy still got an impressive performance from Leiden Schofield, who posted six points in addition to six boards and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Schofield a new career-high in blocks.

It was another big night for Hanna Tickle, who had 12 points and four steals for Clover Garden School. That makes it four consecutive games in which Tickle has scored at least a third of Clover Garden School's points. Another player making a difference was London Hairston, who put up eight points and nine rebounds.

Eno River Academy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-5. As for Clover Garden School, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Eno River Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-25 loss against East Wake Academy on the 9th. As for Clover Garden School, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 37-28 defeat against Falls Lake on the 10th.
