Basketball Game Preview: Coxsackie-Athens Riverhawks vs. Hudson Bluehawks

Coxsackie-Athens hasn't had much luck against Hudson recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Coxsackie-Athens Riverhawks will venture away from home to take on the Hudson Bluehawks at 6:30 p.m.

Coxsackie-Athens is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They fell 60-53 to Taconic Hills.

Meanwhile, Hudson put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Rensselaer, posting a 71-39 victory. Fans of the Bluehawks have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Coxsackie-Athens better keep an eye on Keith Robinson. He was instrumental in Hudson's win, going 13 for 19 on his way to 33 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Robinson's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juwan Morrison, who posted eight points along with eight boards and five assists.

Coxsackie-Athens' loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hudson, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Coxsackie-Athens was dealt a bruising 77-35 defeat at the hands of Hudson in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Coxsackie-Athens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
