Volleyball Recap: Grand Junction Central Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Grand Junction Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Fruita Monument Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Grand Junction Central was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-23, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Grand Junction Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Delany Nostrand had 11 digs and three aces. Nostrand is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Among those leading the charge was Dana Conklin, who had 17 digs and one assist.

Grand Junction Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Fruita Monument, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Grand Junction Central will face off against rival Montrose at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Fruita Monument is set to take on their familiar foe Durango at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
