Softball Recap: Oxbridge Academy Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

After only one run in their last game, Oxbridge Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Pine Crest on Wednesday. The Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves' pitcher stepped up to hand the Pine Crest Panthers a 15-0 shutout. Considering the ThunderWolves have won four matches by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ella Bianco and Kaiya Glucksman did most of the damage at the plate: Bianco scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Glucksman scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Glucksman has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isabella LaForte, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Oxbridge Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine Crest only posted an OBP of .250.

Oxbridge Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 12 hits in those games compared to only 5.43 in the others. As for Pine Crest, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Oxbridge Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Oxbridge Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pine Crest, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Highlands Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highlands Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.43 runs per game on average), something Pine Crest will no doubt try to take advantage of.
