Softball Recap: Ridgeland Beats Calhoun for Their Third Straight Victory + How To Watch

Ridgeland took an eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Calhoun, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Yellow Jackets 6-5. Six seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Chesney Pritchett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Erica Choice, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season. Alaina Shaver was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

The win was the third in a row for Ridgeland, bringing their record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Calhoun, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
