Softball Game Preview: Penquis Valley Patriots vs. Piscataquis Pirates

The Penquis Valley Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Piscataquis Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Thursday, Penquis Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Dexter and fell 4-3.

Meanwhile, Piscataquis fell victim to Dexter and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 15-0. The Pirates have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Penquis Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Piscataquis, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Penquis Valley took their win against Piscataquis when the teams last played on Monday by a conclusive 16-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
