Softball Recap: Monrovia Bulldogs vs. Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars
Monrovia won the last time they faced Greenwood Christian Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Cougars 16-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Harlow Toole made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Lyla Wirey looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.
Back at the plate, Jocelyn Donitzen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Harper Fair also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Monrovia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenwood Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .357.
The win got Monrovia back to even at 3-3. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Looking ahead, Monrovia is taking a road trip to square off against Mooresville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they will host Warren Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cougars are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
