Basketball Recap: Winter Park Comes Up Short

Winter Park was the 50-46 winner over Harmony when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Winter Park Wildcats lost to the Harmony Longhorns on the road by a 52-35 margin on Thursday.

Despite the loss, Winter Park still got an impressive performance from Calista Rand, who posted eight points and three steals. That's the most steals Rand has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Riley, who put up five points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Winter Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Winter Park has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Harmony, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Winter Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-33 victory against University on the 10th. As for Harmony, they will venture away from home to challenge Bayside at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Harmony has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
