Columbia came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Firelands Falcons, sneaking past 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since December 28, 2024.

Columbia got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bree Heidecker out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Heidecker is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Natalie Miller, who went 7 of 14 en route to 13 points along with six boards and three steals.

Columbia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Firelands, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will welcome Keystone at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keystone is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season. As for Firelands, they will be playing at home against Black River at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Firelands is facing Black River at the right time seeing as Black River is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
