After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Linden, Calaveras was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Riverbank Bruins with a sharp 9-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 last Tuesday.
Joey Sweet spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Evan Janssen was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Kaeden Hudson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Looking ahead, Calaveras will welcome Big Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Valley Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.64 runs per game on average), something Calaveras will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Riverbank, they will head out on the road to square off against Linden at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Linden's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Riverbank's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
