Baseball Recap: Boone Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Boone made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Dr. Phillips, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Boone Braves put the hurt on the Dr. Phillips Panthers with a sharp 11-1 win on Thursday. The contest marked the Braves' most dominant victory of the season.

Boone got a great performance from Leo Reina as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Reina also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Boone is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-6 otherwise.

At the plate, CJ Nassar was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Rhys Woodrow was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Boone always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dr. Phillips only posted an OBP of .350.

The win (which was Boone's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Dr. Phillips, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.

Boone will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against South Lake at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Dr. Phillips, they will take on DeLand at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
