Jalen King leads Willow Spring to victory over George C. Marshall

The Willow Spring Storm's's nine-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They secured a 52-46 W over George C. Marshall. The win was all the more spectacular given Willow Spring's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 386th in North Carolina, while George C. Marshall is ranked 66th in Virginia).
Willow Spring can attribute much of their success to Jalen King, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Moose, who scored ten points along with six assists.
Willow Spring's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for George C. Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Willow Spring and South Garner will face off at 7:45 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Garner will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for George C. Marshall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Langley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Langley is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
