Volleyball Recap: Angel Torres Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Highland

Sunrise Mountain had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Highland Bulldogs on Monday.

Sunrise Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Angel Torres led the charge by getting 17 assists and ten digs. That's the most assists Torres has posted over his last four matchups. Another player making a difference was Christian Nevarez, who had ten digs and three aces.

Sunrise Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Highland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

After both having extra time off, Sunrise Mountain and Bonanza will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Highland, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Antelope Valley on the 18th.
