Baseball Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

Lakeland managed to slip by Lake City the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hawks lost 17-5 to the Timberwolves on Thursday. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Timberwolves earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Griffin Tamangi was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Lakeland has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Lake City, their record is now 9-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland will welcome Lewiston at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hawks are facing the Bengals at the right time seeing as the Bengals are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Lake City, they will face off against Coeur d'Alene at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Timberwolves surely won't give up without a fight.
