Basketball Recap: Bluffton Piles Up the Points Against Southern Wells

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bluffton). They blew past the Southern Wells Raiders 68-27 on Friday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Southern Wells' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Durham, who posted eight points. Wyatt Yoder was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

The win was the fourth in a row for Bluffton, bringing their record for this year to 4-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for Southern Wells, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Bluffton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-47 loss against Garrett on the 21st. After both having extra time off, Southern Wells and Union City will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
