Baseball Recap: East Newton Takes a Loss

East Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ash Grove Pirates. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 17-5 to the Pirates when the teams met back in April of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

East Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10-1. As for Ash Grove, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

The teams wasted no time getting back out on the field as they've already faced off again: they played to a 6-6 tie later that day.
