Softball Recap: Brentwood School Eagles vs. Archer School for Girls Panthers
Sadly, Brentwood School is still looking for their first win of the season after eight matches. They fell victim to a tough 15-0 defeat at the hands of the Archer School for Girls Panthers on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Brentwood School of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.
For Archer School for Girls' part, Ari Borstein was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Borstein has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season. Borstein was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
In other batting news, Archer School for Girls got a massive performance out of Malia Apor, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Emmy Rapp was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Brentwood School's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Archer School for Girls, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Brentwood School will be playing at home against Crossroads at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Crossroads is coming into the game with three straight wins on the road, so Brentwood School will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Archer School for Girls, they will square off against Viewpoint at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
