Soccer Game Preview: Steele Canyon vs. Santana

Steele Canyon and Santana are an even 3-3-4 against one another since December of 2017, but likely not for long. The Steele Canyon Cougars will host the Santana Sultans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Steele Canyon is looking for their season's first victory.

Steele Canyon managed to keep up with Del Norte until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Steele Canyon came up short against Del Norte, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 951st, while the Nighthawks are ranked 75th).

Meanwhile, Santana and West Hills finished up their match with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday.

Santana's draw makes their record 2-5-3 this season. As for Steele Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Steele Canyon beat Santana by a goal when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 1-0. Will Steele Canyon repeat their success, or does Santana have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
