If Tanque Verde was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Apache Junction on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountain View Mountain Lions on Friday. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Payton Balsiger paced Tanque Verde's offense, picking up five kills. Balsiger got some help from Lauren Rietz and her nine assists. Balsiger was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Tanque Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Mountain View, they moved to 5-8 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
