Basketball Game Preview: Leesburg Yellow Jackets vs. Springstead Eagles

For the first time this season, Leesburg will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to challenge the Springstead Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Leesburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Springstead likes a good challenge.

While Leesburg's win against Jones wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellow Jackets skirted past the Fightin' Tigers 62-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellow Jackets have posted since January 22nd.

Meanwhile, Springstead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 51-39 to Nature Coast Tech.

Leesburg will have to contain Orlando Feliberty as he made an impact in Springstead's last game. He posted 14 points. Eddie Reiser was another key player, putting up six points.

Springstead's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Leesburg, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything came up roses for Leesburg against Springstead in their previous matchup back in February, as the team secured a 77-31 victory. Will the Yellow Jackets repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
