Baseball Recap: Metamora Takes a Loss

Metamora was the 2-1 winner over Moline when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Redbirds fell just short of the Maroons by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Redbirds have lost by exactly two runs.

Metamora saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Metamora dropped their record down to 5-11 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Moline, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

While Metamora had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
