Preview: Estero Wildcats vs. Lemon Bay Manta Rays
The Estero Wildcats will face off against the Lemon Bay Manta Rays at TBD on Thursday. Hopefully Estero focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
Estero unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They fell to Cypress Lake 54-48. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Estero in their matchups with Cypress Lake: they've now lost three in a row.
Lee Eckman put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 1 assist. Drew Arrington was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lemon Bay had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They strolled past the Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 55-41.
Estero's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Lemon Bay, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season.
Estero strolled past Lemon Bay in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 62-46. Will Estero repeat their success, or does Lemon Bay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
