The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Bushmen are ranked 355th).

Warwick's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2. As for Pine Bush, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Warwick will head out to square off against Newburgh Free Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Warwick is facing Newburgh Free Academy at the right time seeing as Newburgh Free Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Pine Bush, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Pine Bush: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Valley Central has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
