Volleyball Recap: Marist Wins High-Profile Game Against Brother Rice

Marist faced Brother Rice in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The RedHawks walked away with a 2-0 win over the Crusaders. Winning may never get old, but the RedHawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

While Marist won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-17.

Brother Rice's loss came despite strong showings from Matthew Phelan and Ryne Collins. Phelan had 20 assists and three digs, while Collins had 11 digs. Phelan has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more assists the last three times he's played.

Marist's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 32-2. As for Brother Rice, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 28-7.
