Baseball Game Preview: Cascade Bruins vs. Jackson Timberwolves

The Cascade Bruins will head out on the road to take on the Jackson Timberwolves at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cascade has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Jackson will arrive with four straight victories.

Cascade fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Everett on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Seagulls by a score of 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Cascade saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Steven Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Stanwood typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Jackson proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Spartans.

Jackson's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Cascade, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Cascade couldn't quite get it done against Jackson in their previous matchup last Monday as they fell 4-0. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
