Baseball Recap: Arizona College Prep Takes a Loss

After flying high against Chaparral last Tuesday, Arizona College Prep came back down to earth. The Knights came up short against the Firebirds on Thursday, falling 14-8. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Firebirds earlier this season, when they won 8-0.

Jaden Guglielmo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Ashton Sanchez, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Arizona College Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season. As for Chaparral, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Arizona College Prep is set to challenge their familiar foe Horizon at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Chaparral will face off against rival Desert Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
