Basketball Game Preview: Yuba City Honkers vs. East Nicolaus Spartans

The Yuba City Honkers and the East Nicolaus Spartans will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Yuba City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season.

On Friday, Yuba City lost to Sutter on the road by a 51-36 margin. The contest marked the Honkers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Yuba City's loss came about despite a quality game from Travis Lomeli, who posted eight points and 12 boards. Xavier Armstrong was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 64 points the game before, East Nicolaus was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 67-22 loss at the hands of Lincoln. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 981st, while the Fighting Zebras are ranked 385th).

Yuba City has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for East Nicolaus, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
