Softball Game Preview: Santa Rosa Panthers vs. Piner Prospectors

The Santa Rosa Panthers will square off against the Piner Prospectors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Rosa has given up an average of 17.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Santa Rosa duked it out with Ukiah on Thursday. The Panthers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 15-4. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Piner had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 10-7.

The team relied heavily on Ava Parra, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliana Tabares, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Santa Rosa's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Piner, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
