Gilbert had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 9-14 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Dobson Mustangs. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Trinity Romero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rikki Imel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Dobson, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 5, 2025.

On Dobson's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Allie Hanson gave up four runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits. Hanson has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dobson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emrey Walker, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Coming up, Gilbert will face off against Chandler at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Dobson, they will take on Skyline at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
