Basketball Game Preview: KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy vs. Science Leadership Academy

KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy will take on Science Leadership Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy came up short against Motivation and fell 59-46. KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tali Baker went 9 of 11 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Baker a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rahimer Nugin- Johnson, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Science Leadership Academy lost to Parkway Northwest on the road by a 57-43 margin on Tuesday.

Science Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy ended up a good deal behind Science Leadership Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 66-51. Can KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
