Volleyball Recap: Kimberly Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Appleton North

Kimberly faced Appleton North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Papermakers fell just short of the Lightning by a score of 2-1. If the Papermakers were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Lightning when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Kimberly still got an impressive performance from Blake Zielinski, who had 18 assists and six digs.

This is the second loss in a row for Kimberly and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Appleton North, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Kimberly has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Appleton East on the 2nd. As for Appleton North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against New Berlin Eisenhower/New Berlin West on the 30th.
