Basketball Recap: Metamora Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Metamora won the last time they faced Rochester and things went their way on Monday too. The Metamora Redbirds enjoyed a cozy 51-36 victory over the Rochester Rockets. Given the Redbirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Rockets are ranked 316th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rochester's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Taylor Offer, who posted 13 points and five rebounds, and Delaney Farris, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points. Bella Harness also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Metamora's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Rochester, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metamora has already played their next matchup (against Morton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rochester will head out to face off against MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
