Baseball Recap: Betsy Layne Comes Up Short

Betsy Layne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Shelby Valley Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-3 defeat on Thursday.

Betsy Layne's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Shelby Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Betsy Layne by a score of 4-3 later that day.
