Football Game Preview: Streator Bulldogs vs. Manteno Panthers

Streator is 0-9 against Manteno since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Streator has given up an average of 40.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Streator's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Dixon on Friday. They were dealt a 65-0 loss at the hands of the Dukes & Duchesses. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Dukes & Duchesses are ranked 103rd).

Manteno hadn't beaten Peotone on the road since August 26, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Panthers secured a 25-20 W over the Blue Devils. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Streator's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Manteno, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Streator was taken down by Manteno 49-8 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
