Baseball Game Preview: Seven Lakes Spartans vs. Katy Taylor Mustangs

Seven Lakes is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Katy Taylor 12-1 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

James Levin spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Christian Villamizar was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Jacob Tucker was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Katy Taylor and nudges their season record down to 15-7-1. As for Seven Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
