Football Recap: East Central Takes a Loss + How To Watch

East Central played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 50-21 loss at the hands of the Pearl River Central Blue Devils. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

Despite the loss, East Central had strong showings from Maddox Dunn, who rushed for 174 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.2 yards per carry, and Adrian Marsalis, who rushed for 123 yards and one score. Dunn is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 131 every time he's taken the field this season.

Pearl River Central found their leader in sophomore Titus Feaster, who threw for 413 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt. Feaster also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making two total tackles. John Feaster was another key player, picking up 134 receiving yards and three TDs.

East Central dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Pearl River Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Central will host Forrest County Agricultural at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pearl River Central, they will face off against Poplarville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
