Basketball Recap: Desoto County Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

DeSoto County won the last time they faced Bradenton Christian, and Yahri Tyler did her part to make sure it happened again. The DeSoto County Bulldogs strolled past the Bradenton Christian Panthers with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 72-57 thanks in part to Tyler, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 21 boards. Those 33 points gave her a new career-high.

Bradenton Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Taylor Blunden and Lana Price. Blunden went 11 of 20 on her way to 30 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Price shot 5-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Blunden's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

DeSoto County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 14-4 record this season. As for Bradenton Christian, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeSoto County will square off against Booker at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Booker is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season. As for Bradenton Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Manatee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
