Downey was forced to take a big defeat against they on Tuesday, they got the better of them on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Warren Bears. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Bears on Tuesday, they had to take a 9-3 loss.

Leilani Kaiwi Gonzales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sophia Hernandez was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Downey kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 9-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

With the victory, Downey broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 15-9. As for Warren, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season.

Downey and Warren should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Vikings will take on Paramount at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (114 vs. 447). Meanwhile, Warren (ranked 293rd) will meet Dominguez (ranked 1093rd) at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
