On Thursday, Hidden Valley needed a bit of extra time to put away Christiansburg. They skirted past the Blue Demons 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since March 30th.
ASHTON WOODSON spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and three unearned) runs on 13 hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on RILEY EADES, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was BAILEY HALL, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, William Byrd lost 13-7 to Staunton River on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Terriers have lost by exactly six runs.
William Byrd saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Clark, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Heidi Dixon was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
William Byrd's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Hidden Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
