Softball Recap: American Heritage Starts Season with Win at Home

American Heritage took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They never let the Cooper City Cowboys onto the board and left with a 10-0 victory. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 win the Cowboys walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Lyric Rodriguez made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she also posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arianna Reynolds, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Bria Villano, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Coming up, American Heritage will face off against Palm Beach Gardens at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cooper City, they will head out to square off against Park Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
