Baseball Recap: William Penn Takes a Loss

After flying high against Christiana on Saturday, William Penn came back down to earth. The Colonials lost 10-4 to the Caesar Rodney Riders on Tuesday. The Colonials were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Riders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

William Penn saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Baker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was Baker's first of the season.

William Penn's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Caesar Rodney, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, William Penn and Caesar Rodney will both be playing Milford the next time they take the field. The Riders will head out to face the Buccaneers at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Colonials will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
